Four Week Series

The primary goal of this education series is to promote a natural, healthy, and safe approach to pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting practices. My hope is that through the knowledge and skills you learn, you will gain confidence in your ability to give birth. I believe that there is no right or wrong way to bring a baby into this world and every family has different goals for this experience. I want to provide you with the information and support to help you feel comfortable in the birth journey that is right for you. I also want to help you feel prepared to tackle challenges if and when they arise.

All of our discussion will support the fundamentals of childbirth as identified             by Lamaze International:

  • Birth is normal, natural and healthy.
  • Women have an innate ability to give birth.
  • The experience of birth profoundly affects women and their families.
  • Women’s confidence and ability to give birth is either enhanced or diminished by the care provider and place of birth.
  • Women have the right to give birth free from routine medical interventions.
  • Birth can safely take place in homes, birth centers and hospitals.
  • Lamaze childbirth education empowers women to make informed choices in healthcare and take responsibility for their health, and to trust their innate ability to give birth
